Job Title: Operations Supervisor – Tower Crane
Location: Across the UK

Tower Crane Fitter Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all operations conducted in line with the minimum H&S standards, procedures, and all relevant UK legislation (BS7121, PUWER, LOLER)
  • On-site management of tower crane operations
  • Management of asset transport and logistics
  • Ensuring appropriate asset records are kept (repairs, servicing, compliance etc.)
  • Ensuring all asset defects are rectified in a prompt, safe and timely manner
  • Receiving and rectifying on site complaints
  • Responding and rectifying asset breakdowns
  • Co-ordination of asset repair and maintenance
  • Carrying out routine repairs and maintenance on assets
  • Identifying and raising to management of any operational deficiencies or areas of improvement
  • Place orders for ancillary items
  • Supporting the Tower Cranes Management team with any relevant tasks
  • To report all unsafe events and good practice events

Fitter Experience & Qualities :
To be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of Managers & Professionals level CPCS Qualification
  • CPCS Competent A40 Slinger Signaller Card (Blue Card) with the following endorsements:
    • A – All Types – All Duties
    • CPCS Competent A62 Crane / Lifting Operations Supervisor Card (Blue Card)
  • Site Management Qualification – SSSTS / SMSTS
  • Mechanical Based Qualification (NVQ or equivalent)
  • Electrical Based Qualification (NVQ or equivalent)
  • Experience and extensive knowledge of working within the tower crane industry
  • Clear customer focus
  • Knowledge of plant / asset hire industry
  • Clear drive and ambition
  • Ability to effectively manage conflict and negotiation
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with people at all levels across the organisation and externally.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Management

Job Title: Tower Crane Fitter – Mobile
Location: Across the UK

Tower Crane Fitter Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain tower cranes in line with relevant RAMS, policies and procedures and OEM requirements
  • Ensure the depot is kept clean and tidy in order to facilitate a safe working environment
  • Ensure relevant task briefings have been carried out prior to tasks undertaken
  • To ensure the works are carried out in the most efficient and safe manner
    Notify the Service & Maintenance Manager of any matters that affect the progress of works (including breakdowns & damages, etc.)
  • Ensure maintenance/inspection checks are carried out, reports are correctly completed on time and submitted to the Service & Maintenance Manager
  • Actively & positively participate in Daily Activity Briefings and all relevant team briefings
  • Undertake training as required to retain and obtain required competency levels
  • To report any problems or safety issues to the Crane Supervisor / Manager
  • To ensure a quality service is delivered to the customer
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures including Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental
  • Ensure all operations conducted in line with the minimum H&S standards 
  • Erection and dismantle of cranes on site as directed by the Service and Maintenance Manager 
  • Provide oral & written condition reports on assets, notifying line management of any relevant issue

  • Liaise with clients regarding machine access and subsequent repair
